Skinning puppies is legal again?
Everyone who has watched the movie "101 Dalmatians" would probably agree, it's a fun family flick, watch with the kids, etc. I want to look into an unstated darker theme, one which we all live with everyday - and it's getting worse.
In the story, Cruella DeVille wanted to steal the 99 puppies, kill them, skin them, and make a fur coat out of them. That's the main plot line, an act so horrific to modern sensibilities as to make one incredulous and angry. Killing dogs? skinning puppies? Worst of the worst.
Yet, in the movie, while doing everything they could to foil her evil plots, save the dogs, resist this act of un-neccessary greed and cruelty, they all just accepted the legality of it. No one called the cops. No one protested. They hated it, they did their best to prevent it, but for some reason they accepted the fact that unless their run-and-hide efforts were successful, Cruella would have her coat, and there was nothing they could do about it.
And here we are. In America today, we have roving bands of heavily armed yet untrained thugs, with legal immunity and carte blanc authority, literally kidnapping American citizens, men women and babies. People have been beaten, disabled, kidnapped in the dark of night and literally disappeared. And now, two American citizens who got in their way have been murdered. Outright literally murdered, their Constitutional rights trampled into the frozen Minnesota ground and soiled with their blood.
And our collective response? Hide the puppies, basically. Everyone is basically accepting and tolerating these latter-day Cruella goons, as if their actions were legal and authorized. And in de facto process, they are. And will remain legal, no matter how abhorrent and evil, until the source of the evil is removed.
Donald Trump is not the mastermind of the destruction of the American way of life, but he is the poster child. He is the totem monster, the banner behind which the goons hide, the soul of this soulless fascist police state.
Remove him. Article 25 is clearly called for. Indict him for his myriad of felonies he has committed just so far this year. Impeach him. Cut the head off the snake. Then the Steven Millers and Noems et al will scurry like cockroaches when the light come on.
Stop tolerating.
