Introduction
This is my blog, so I am supposed to talk about myself. Just for background, you understand.
From Arizona, Air Force veteran, former Scoutmaster, avid but unaccomplished fisherman, rider of bicycles (again, unaccomplished, really, only about 30,000 miles to date). South Carolina resident these days, blessed to be with Lady Breanne, who makes my life.
By day, self-proclaimed expert in general IT things. Have been doing IT since the 80s, I was the Database Manager of mainframe computers at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Even had an ARPANet email address, once upon a time. Performed classified data processing, a little programming, made sure the mainframe didn't halt and catch fire. Since then, I have been a COBOL programmer, SQL designer, network engineer, security officer, wireless guru, security camera system sherpa, ASP.NET developer, Linux admin, disaster recovery dude, I mean, been there and done that. To be IT is to be good at damn near everything - specialization is for insects.
I have opinions on things - politics, science, the environment, the hand basket we currently find ourselves in, and where we are heading. I will wax on about many things in the coming posts.
